East Capital partner and Horizon Investments head take on Ukraine government posts
The newly appointed Ukrainian government includes the appointment of three foreign nationals, Aivaras Abromavicius (pictured), currently partner at East Capital, Natalie Jaresko, currently head of Horizon Capital Investment and Alexander Kvitashvili, who was previously a member of the Georgian cabinet.
Abromavicius has been appointed minister of Economic Development and Trade in the new Ukrainian government, he is originally Lithuanian, but lives in the Ukraine and is married to a Ukrainian national.
Natalie Jaresko is American-born and currently heads Kiev- based Horizon Capital Investment. She has now been appointed as minister of Finance.
Alexander Kvitashvili is originally from Georgia, and was previously minister of Health in Georgia, he has now been appointed as minister of Health for the Ukraine.
All three have been granted Ukrainian citizenship hours before the parliamentary vote to approve the new government.

I am truly passionate about Ukraine, the country that has been my and my family’s home for the past six years. East Capital has given me a lot over the past years, and now it is my time to contribute to the development of Ukraine”, said Aivaras Abromavicius.
Following on from his appointment, Abromavicius will resign from his position at East Capital, Jacob Grapengiesser, also Senior Advisor and Partner, will now take the lead role for Eastern European investments while the overall responsibility remains with CIO and chairman, Peter Elam Håkansson.
