Changes at Deka board: Moftakhar to leave

Deka Investment has confirmed that Victor Moftakhar is set to leave his position as chairman of the board as of March 2017.

Moftakhar has been with Deka for almost 20 years, he now plans to take on a new role outside the organisation, among others as CIO and head of equity fund management.

Coinciding with the announcement of Moftakhars departure, Deka Investment announced the hire of Michael Schmidt as member of the board. As of July 2016, Schmidt will be in charge of the Asset Servicing und Alternative Investments division at Deka.

He joins from Union Investment, where he spent five years in charge of portfolio management equities and as member of the board for Union Investment Privatfonds.Prior to that, he held a number of positions at Deutsche Asset Management.

The changes at Deka’s board are subject to approval by German regulator BaFin.
