Exotix adds four for fixed income push

Exotix Capital has expanded its fixed income team with four appointments in different markets globally.

João Korngold, who previously worked as the managing director for EM sales at Cantor Fitzgerald and BNY Mellon, will lead fixed income sales for Latin America. Korngold has over 20 years’ experience selling EM products to institutional investors, hedge funds and private banks including Santander, BNY Mellon and Cantor.

Natalia Ermolitskaya joins Exotix’s London-based fixed income desk and will also be the firm’s Russia director. Ermolitskaya previously worked for Russian bluechips Aeroflot and MDM Bank along with international investment banks including BNP Paribas and Barclays, where she was the director of both firms.

Hiral Desai joins Exotix as director of fixed income sales in Dubai. Desai formerly led fixed income execution and trading for ADS and broking for ED&F Man and Tullett Prebon in the region.

Afamefuna Alfred Umeh, who led Nigeria Treasuries trading at United Bank for Africa, has been appointed to head Sub-Saharan Africa fixed income sales based in Lagos.

Dean Tyler, global head of Fixed Income, said: “Exotix continues to build its Emerging Market Fixed Income platform with an emphasis on local intelligence and on-the-ground relationships. We will continue to fill the gaps left by our ever retreating competition, with Latin America, the CIS region, MENA and Sub-Saharan Africa as cornerstones of this commitment.”

Earlier this year, Exotix’s fixed income hired Peter Urbanczyk, the former CEO of Sberbank’s US business. The firm also appointed James Bonfils, managing director of EM Debt Origination and Sales at VTB Capital in New York, and Nikolai Andreev, former director of Emerging Markets Trading at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London.
