Former Degroof chief economist launches own boutique

Etienne de Callataÿ (pictured), former chief economist and managing director of Bank Degroof, has announced the launch of his own boutique in Belgian newspaper Le Soir.

The new asset manager is called Orcadia, referring to Scottish Orkney islands, and is registered in Luxembourg.

De Callataÿ told Le Soir that MSCI will form its main financial data provider.

Callataÿ worked 16 years at Degroof and left the company on 30 September 2015 in the aftermath of the merger between Bank Degroof and Petercam.
