Amundi transfers thematic equities management to CPR AM

Amundi has announced all thematic equities funds will be managed by its fully-owned boutique CPR Asset Management as from 30 September 2015.

Amundi and CPR’s teams will merge in a new unit composed of ten investment professionals. Vafa Ahmadi, head of Thematic Equities at CPR AM and manager of the CPR Global Silver Age fund, has been appointed director of the unit. He will be leading the team with Estelle Ménard, who has been promoted deputy director.

Amundi runs thematic equities funds including luxury, gold and natural resources whilst CPR AM manages strategies such as CPR Global Silver Age focusing on ageing population.

The unit will manage over €3.6bn in assets and Amundi group has plans to make CPR AM a global reference in thematic equities.

Romain Boscher, Amundi’s global head of Equities, said: “CPR AM’s reputation in this space will bolster Amundi’s position in thematic management. We are mobilising all our resources to offer clients a range of innovative and high-performing investment strategies.”
