Axiom AI hires senior analyst and partner

French asset manager Axiom Alternative Investments (Axiom AI) has appointed Gildas Surry (pictured) as senior analyst and partner.

He will take up his duties on 1st June 2015 and will be based in the London office of the firm specialised in instruments issued by financial institutions.

He will be covering both research and portfolio management, but will be specifically overseeing the Axiom Contingent Capital and Axiom European Financial Debt funds.

Surry, who has been covering the European banking sector for 15 years, was hitherto working as senior analyst at BNP Paribas. His team focused on thematic notes as well as specific situations.

Formerly, he held analyst positions at both Citigroup and Merrill Lynch, after beginning his career at Lazard Frères Gestion in Paris.

Surry commented: “Axiom Alternative Investments is distinguished in the market by its expertise in financial regulation and banking sector fundamentals, and I am thrilled to join the firm at this pivotal point of their development.

Established in 2006, Axiom AI currently posts €800m of assets under management.
