BBVA names CEO France

Spanish financial group BBVA has appointed Thierry Barbier as CEO of its French subsidiary.

Barbier succeeds Grégoire de Lestapis who has been recently named CEO Spain of French lending company Lendix.

Barbier has been with BBVA since ten years, having held roles of managing director, head of Global Lending France and head of Project Finance for EMEA & Asia. Prior to that, he worked within Societe Generale group.

With this appointment, the company intends to strengthen its relationships with French institutional clients.

Adrien Paredes-Vanheule is deputy editor and French-Speaking Europe Correspondent for InvestmentEurope, covering France, Belgium, Geneva and Monaco. Prior to joining InvestmentEurope, he spent almost five years writing for various publications in Monaco, primarily as a criminal and financial court reporter. Before that, he worked for newspapers and radio stations in France, in particular in Lyon.
