BBVA names head of Institutional Client Group France

BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking has promoted Alexandre Deschâtres as head of Institutional Client Group France.

In addition to his new duties, Deschâtres will remain head of Debt Capital Markets Financials.

He will be managing the newly created Financial Institution Group division in Paris, that aims to provide the firm’s expertises to banks, insurers, private equity funds and asset managers in France and abroad.

Expertises include advisory services (M&A, rating, capital structuring, regulatory), cash management, loan syndication, investment products.

Grégoire de Lestapis, country head France at BBVA, said that this initiative will strengthen the firm’s relationship with French financial institutions.

Deschâtres joined BBVA CIB in 2011. Formerly, he worked at Dexia where he was in charge of long-term funding, bond markets.

Prior to that, he held positions of coverage officer, Oil and Gas and within the real estate structured finance team at Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Banking in Paris.

Deschâtres started his career as credit analyst at Credit Lyonnais in New York.
