BNP Paribas AM revamps part of Parvest fund range

Paris-headquartered investment firm BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) will rename the sub-funds of its global equities sectoral range within its Parvest Sicav as from 16 November 2017, InvestmentEurope has learned.

The investments of the sub-funds concerned will now be concentrated on the innovative companies of their respective universes. To better reflect these changes, their investment policies have been adapted and their names modified.

Hence the Parvest Equity World Technology fund, managed by Pamela Hegarty, will become the Parvest Disruptive Technology fund while the Parvest Equity World Consumer Durables fund, run by Pamela Woo, will be renamed as Parvest Consumer Innovators and the Parvest Equity World Healthcare fund, managed by Jon Stephenson, as Parvest Healthcare Innovators.

The Parvest Equity World Energy and Parvest Equity World Finance strategies, both run by Geoffry Dailey, will be rebranded as Parvest Energy Innovators and Parvest Finance Innovators respectively.

Other changes implemented as from 16 November 2017 will see the Parvest Bond Asia ex-Japan fund authorised to be invested in debt securities traded China Interbank Bond Market (CIBM) up to 25% of its assets.

At the same time, the Parvest Bond World Income fund will see its minimum exposure to main assets (bonds and/or securities treated as equivalent or money market instruments, denominated in EUR, USD or GBP, and issued by governments, agencies or private companies in any country and up to 30% of its assets in high yield bonds) decrease from 80% to 70% of the portfolio.

Three new sub-funds
Also a new compartment, Parvest Global Equity Absolute Return Strategy (Gears), will be added to the Parvest fund range by the end of November 2017.

In addition, BNPP AM has plans to launch a pair of multi-factor fixed income sub-funds, one focusing on European investment grade and the other on US investment grade securities, but their launch date has not been set yet.

Last September, the French asset manager proceeded to the merger of the Parvest Equity USA Value fund into its Parvest Equity USA Value DEFI strategy and activated the Parvest Equity China A-Shares following the merger of Flexifund China A. It has also launched the Parvest Green Bond fund.
