Emergence seeds Via AM’s European equity fund

French manager incubator Emergence has made its first investment for its new equity compartment launched in June 2017, Emergence Actions II.

Some €50m have been poured into the Via Smart Equity Europe fund, a systematic European equity strategy unveiled in March 2016 by Paris-based boutique Via AM. It forms the largest investment ever made by Emergence since its inception in 2012.

The Via Smart Equity fund seeks to outperform the MSCI Europe index (net dividends reinvested) with a similar risk profile.

Emergence’s investment enables Via AM’s fund to exceed the €150m threshold in AuM and to strengthen its visibility towards French and foreign institutional investors.

Via AM has over €450m of assets under management and runs four strategies (European equities, US and global equities and multi-strategy absolute return).
