French boutique hires fixed income head

Paris based boutique Karakoram has appointed Jean-Marc Bélières as portfolio manager and head of Fixed Income.

Bélières will be responsible for developing the manager’s fixed income expertise. He will also continue run the Euro Rendement Réel fund he launched in 2004 when he was fixed income chief at SPGP.

The France-domiciled Euro Rendement Réel fund mainly invests in French and eurozone corporate bonds issued in euro and does also select fixed income funds.

Bélières joins from Olympia Capital Gestion he left in June and where he spent three years as head of Fixed Income.

Formerly, he has also been head of Asset Management at Quilvest Gestion Privée and held roles of director at Banque OBC Odier Bungener Courvoisier from 1986 to 1997 and at ABN AMRO Paris from 1997 to 1999.

He started his career at UBP Bank in Paris in 1982.
