Raymond James AM launches first smart beta US equity fund

Paris based Raymond James Asset Management International (RJAMI) has launched its first smart beta US equity fund, Raymond James US Quality Plus.

The strategy relies on a multi-factor methodology – the three main aggregated factors are beta, quality, volatility – and applies a low volatility approach. It aims to outperform the S&P 500 over the long term.

The fund exploits low-volatility anomalies and the portfolio consists of 30 to 40 US stocks equally weighted. Positions are reviewed on a monthly basis.

The Raymond James US Quality Plus is managed by Damien Gruller, head of Risk Analysis and Quantitative Analysis in the asset allocation and investment solutions team of Raymond James Asset Management International.

Established in 1995, Raymond James Asset Management International is part of US group Raymond James Financial.

The firm had $71.7bn (€65.1) of assets under management as at end of June 2016.
