French state SRI label awarded to €1.1bn equity fund

Two European equity funds of La Financière de l’Echiquier, Echiquier Major and Echiquier ISR, have been awarded the SRI label backed by the French ministry of Finance for three years.

Launched in 2005, Echiquier Major has €1.1bn in assets under management and is co-run by Jean-Charles Belvo and Frédéric Plisson. It has been previously labelled by French public SRI research centre Novethic in 2013.

As for Echiquier ISR, it is overseen by SRI portfolio manager and analyst Sonia Fasolo. Launched in 2010, the strategy invests in European companies that stand out of the crowd by their ESG policies. The fund has €1m of AUM as of 7 October 2016.

Didier Le Menestrel, chairman of La Financière de l’Echiquier, said SRI is a state of mind the company has had since its launch and that the obtainment of the French state SRI label was a great encouragement for all the management of the company, in particular the teams involved in the two labelled funds.

Established in 1991, La Financière de l’Echiquier has €7.5bn of AUM.
