French market authority adds one to asset management direction

The French market authority Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) has appointed Philippe Sourlas as deputy director of the asset management directorate.

Sourlas works alongside Xavier Parain, head of the asset management directorate at AMF.

He was previously head of a banking supervision division at the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR),

He started his career at the Inspection Générale des Finances in 2006, before joining the Autorité de Contrôle des Assurances et des Mutuelles (ACAM), which has since become the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR).

Sourlas held a number of roles there, working as an international expert and supervisor, deputy head of a supervision unit, and then head of an insurance supervision unit from 2011 to 2013.

In 2014, he took over one of ACPR’s banking supervision divisions.
