French Treasury boss joins private equity firm

French Treasury boss Bruno Bézard will step down to join Sino-French private equity firm Cathay Capital as managing partner at the start of July 2016.

Bézard heads the French Treasury since 2014, having held a number of executive roles in French financial public services before including minister counsellor for economic and financial affairs and head of the Regional Economic Department at the French Embassy in Beijing from 2010 to 2012.

At Cathay Capital, he will be focusing on launching a new investment fund aiming to finance European and Asian companies.

Established in 2006, Cathay Capital had €1.2bn of assets under management as of January 2016 and has six offices in Paris, Beijing, Shanghai, Munich, New York and San Francisco.

The firm runs four private equity strategies.
