Generali and Saint-Gobain start design project in Paris
Generali Real Estate and Compagnie Saint-Gobain – the world’s leader in the habitat and construction markets – signed a memorandum of understanding to define the conditions for the French company to set up its new headquarters in the building which will be named Tour Saint-Gobain and will become the next development project of the Generali Group in La Défense.
Located in the historical heart of the business district, in the Courbevoie area, the architectural, technical and environmental project of the Valode & Pistre studio has been selected by Generali in coordination with Saint-Gobain and EPADESA – the public authority for the development of La Défense Seine Arche – following an international architecture contest. According to the agreement and assisted by Hines France, Generali Real Estate would develop a 165-meter tall iconic tower with a surface of approximately 49,000 square meters and 34 floors.
Conceived to become the future showcase of the expertise and global image of Saint-Gobain, and in line with Generali’s real estate strategy, the Tour Saint-Gobain project aims to be a paragon of environmental quality ensuring good integration with the surrounding area, energy performance and users’ comfort.
The agreement to build the future Tour Saint-Gobain is subject to final approval by Generali and Saint-Gobain at the beginning of 2015, following the filing of the request for permission to build.
