La Financière de l’Echiquier appoints new CIO
Paris-headquartered boutique La Financière de l’Echiquier (LFDE) has promoted Olivier de Berranger to the role of chief investment officer, effective 1 October 2017.
He is succeeding the firm’s veteran Marc Craquelin, who served 15 years at LFDE and who has decided to leave the firm to pursue new opportunities.
Reporting to LFDE’s chairman and chief executive officer Didier Le Menestrel, de Berranger will be a member of the firm’s management committee.
de Berranger will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily the 30-strong LFDE’s asset management team. In addition, he will retain his position as fund manager of Echiquier Arty he manages since its inception in 2007. Guillaume Jourdan has been named as a co-portfolio manager on the fund.
Also he will continue to co-manager the Echiquier Patrimoine fund alongside Jean Biscarrat and the Echiquier Oblig fund alongside Uriel Saragusti.
de Berranger joined LFDE in March 2007 as a fixed income portfolio manager before being appointed head of Fixed Income and Diversified Management, two segments whose assets under management gathered amount to €2.5bn currently.
Le Menestrel, who thanked Craquelin for his long-standing contribution to the firm, said de Berranger was the natural heir of Craquelin, being a cornerstone of LFDE’s asset management team.
“Olivier’s appointment is an additional proof of our will to provide ever more performing and sustainable investment options to our clients and distributors,” he added.
LFDE managed around €8.5bn of assets as of 30 June 2017.
