La Française AM launches Investment Solutions service
La Française Asset Management is linking up with a team of corporate and investment banking professionals to create La Française Investment Solutions (IS).
The new structure, submitted for approval to the French regulator (AMF), is 65% owned by La Française AM and 35% owned by its founders.
The business will aim to provide investors with a range of funds incorporating quantitative and alternative management techniques and customized investment solutions (managed with asset and liability management, asymmetric and portfolio diversification objectives) implemented through dedicated funds or mandates.
Said Xavier Lépine, chairman of La Française AM: “It’s a new and innovative activity, combining highly technical approaches – generally reserved for bank proprietary trading – in an asset management environment that offers the strongest guarantees in terms of transparency and risk management.”
The model adopted by La Française IS will associate asset management, financial engineering and a distribution expertise in a creative and responsive way, the company said. A sales team will work alongside that of La Française AM.
“We aim to rapidly become a reference in the industry. In addition to the founders, whose experience in the field is indisputable, it is our ambition to recruit the very best talent and renowned specialists to create a team of about 30 professionals by 2015 “, explains Patrick Rivière, managing director of La Française AM.
The group sees the new unit as a source of growth and value creation, consistent with the interests of investors, and complementary to the historic business of Groupe La Française AM.
With over €35bn in assets under management and independent in the exercise of its business, La Française AM has an original shareholder structure with Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe, other institutional investors and company directors and employees.
