La Francaise and OFI AM team up to create AM incubator

La Française and OFI AM have confirmed the combination of their incubation activities run by NExT AM and NewAlpha AM.

The new entity includes:

– 49 investments made
– total seed money commitments of €1.3bn
– 26 active partnerships
– €6.2bn of assets managed by 260 professionals at our partner management firms

The complementary nature of the two teams will provide increased expertise in investment style and incubation techniques, and faster international development in incubation capacity and its investor offering.

NewAlpha AM will become the third-party asset management body for the new entity and will be 40% owned by La Française via its NExT AM subsidiary, 25% owned by OFI AM via NewAlpha Advisers and 35% owned by the founders of NewAlpha AM within the NewAlpha Partners entity.

NewAlpha AM will be the central entry point for project sponsors. The team will be responsible for sourcing, analysing and investments.
As well as promoting the supported companies by providing its Innovation and Quality seal of approval, NExT AM will accompany sector players in their growth and restructuring operations as part of the ongoing consolidation of asset management activities.

The new entity will provide:

– investors with access to incubation in a variety of formats: Emerging Managers fund of funds, incubator funds with revenue sharing in return for seed money, incubator funds combining revenue sharing and equity investment, private equity funds;

– managers with a powerful development platform: hosting, information systems, Back and Middle Office, marketing, etc.
NewAlpha AM, as a European leader in its field, will thus be in a position to challenge the biggest institutional investors.

The new set up will include 15 key professionals.
