Motion Equity Partners to refocus on Italy and France
Private equity firm Cognetas has changed its name to Motion Equity Partners, as part of a broader strategic change which will see the company focusing more on the French and Italian markets.
The company, currently managed by Patrick Eisenchteter in Paris, will reduce its leverage and focus on two core markets from its offices in Paris and Milan (pictured, the Stock Exchange).
Motion Equity Partners currently has € 1.3bn of assets under management, according to the company’s website.
A first fund, ‘Fund I’, was raised in 2001 and recently fully liquidated. The 11-people team is now advising on a ‘Fund II’, raised in 2005 and with a total equity value of €1.3bn.
The fund has seven companies in its portfolio: Arcaplanet, Fullsix International, Morrison Utility Services, Gruppo Argenta, Diana, Ixetic and Tokheim.
The Milan office is headed by Maurizio Bianco, who joined Motion Equity Partners in 2006 after seven years as head of private equity at the Italian investment bank Euromobiliare.
