New AM group Skylar launched

French boutique SPGP has joined forces with UK private equity firm Galaxis Capital and alternative manager Casteel Capital to launch a new global asset management group named Skylar.

SPGP will focus on the asset and private wealth management while Galaxis Capital will provide advice in corporate finance and M&A and will be in charge of non-listed investments (private equity, real estate).

Skylar has offices in Paris, London and Brussels and has plans to open two more in Monaco and Geneva.

The fund offering has been strengthened with diversified funds (bonds, convertibles, flexible and hedged equities) and thematic funds (IPO, luxe, digitalisation, Africa). In addition, Casteel Capital, founded in 2006 by Philippe Dupuy et Cedric Lamielle, will bring its know-how in the alternative space to Skylar and will be in charge of the firm’s alternatives fund selection.

Within the Skylar Group, SPGP’s chairman Cédric Chaboud will hold positions of CIO and managing partner, in charge of major strategic and tactical allocations. Managing partners will also include Alexis Gurdjian and Pierre Lussato, who will be responsible for the corporate finance and private equity/real estate businesses of Skylar.
