Former BNP fund managers launch new French boutique

Former BNP Paribas’ fund managers Guillaume Dolisi et Laurent Pla have officially launched Veritas Investment Associates Management (Via AM) in Paris.

The pair has partnered with financial analyst Mauricio Zanini, appointed head of Research, and Swiss banking group Eric Sturdza.

Via AM has already launched three systematic long only smart beta equity strategies (Via Smart-Equity US, Via Smart-Equity Global, Via Smart-Equity Europe) and a fund of absolute return funds focusing on risk premia (Via Absolute Return).

The firm specifies that its philosophy does not stick to a specific investment style or factors.

Eric Sturdza Management supports the funds operations and distribution.

Prior to co-founding Via AM, Pla and Dolisi co-created and co-managed the Quant Equity Guru and the Quant Equity Income strategies at BNP Paribas.

Dolisi has also worked as head of Long/Short Equity Trading at Société Générale Securities.

Before joining BNP Paribas, Pla held positions of head of Quantitative Research at Société Générale and Credit Agricole Cheuvreux.

Zanini, as well co-founder of Via AM, previously held a senior analyst role within the Croci Research Group for ten years at Deutsche Bank ans has been a financial analyst with JP Morgan.

As of 3 June 2016, Via AM managed €266m in assets.
