Talence Gestion launches French ESG small/mid cap equity fund

French boutique Talence Gestion has launched the Talence Epargne Utile fund which invests in French listed small and medium sized companies that have the best ESG ratings from the manager’s partner, ESG rating agency EthiFinance.

The firm argues listed French small and mid-caps outperform local large caps and believes companies addressing transparency and responsible investment issues can outperform their peers over the long term.

EthiFinance rates around 250 French listed companies over 60 extra financial criteria. The 70 firms that are the best rated are included in the Talence Epargne Utile’s portfolio, managed by Alain Pitous, CEO and partner of Talence Gestion.

EthiFinance’s ratings are reviewed annually.

Established in 2010, Talence Gestion currently manages around €500m in assets.
