Talence Gestion merges away equity funds

French boutique Talence Gestion is set to merge two equity strategies, Talence Midcaps and Talence Euromidcap, as from 15 May 2017, the firm has announced.

Talence Euromidcap which invests in eurozone small and mid-cap stocks will absorb Talence Midcaps primarily invested in French mid-cap equities.

The manager said it wants to harmonise its equity fund range and that the merger of the funds will enable more flexibility in geographical allocation without being overweight on a particular country.

The investment process will remain identical, still relying on identifying companies, analysing their fundamentals and valuations.

At the end of April 2017,  Jean-François Arnaud, portfolio manager of the Talence Euromidcap, listed Altran, Cancom, Koenig & Bauer, Orpea, Showroomprivé, S&T, Stroer, Vallourec, VTG and Wirecard as strong convictions of the fund over the coming months.

The fund had some €69.41m in assets under management while the Talence Midcaps fund’s AUM reached €66.85m as of 28 April 2017.

Talence Gestion has over €700m in assets under management.
