Tocqueville Finance appoints fund manager

Paris-based boutique Tocqueville Finance, part of La Banque Postale group, has appointed Stéphane Nières‐Tavernier as portfolio manager for a number of funds including the Tocqueville Megatrends fund and the firm’s growth equity strategies. He will also manage mandates.

Nières‐Tavernier joined on 1 February from Montpensier Finance, where he co-managed European equity funds.

Prior to this, Nières‐Tavernier served within BNP Paribas group in the equity research teams of Exane and Ixis Mid Caps among others.

Tocqueville Finance has also strengthened its commercial team with the appointments of Caroline Frelet‐Desclaux as head of Institutional Clients and Thomas Douay who is in charge of sales towards French IFAs. Both report to Pascale Attuil, head of Business Development.

Frelet‐Desclaux, who joined Tocqueville Finance on 1 December 2017, worked at Métropole Gestion, where she developed the firm’s business in France and Italy.

Previously, she spent eight years at Merill Lynch Global Wealth Management as vice president, in charge of the development and fund distribution across continental Europe.

Frelet-Desclaux started her career in 2002 as engineer at Meeschaert Private Banking before being appointed head of Development at Finance Sélection.

As for Douay, he has been with La Banque Postale group since 2005 having managed a number of clients portfolios. He joined Tocqueville Finance at the start of January.

Tocqueville Finance had €2.2bn as of 31 December 2017.
