BNP Paribas strengthens wholesale focus in Germany
Christian Petter has taken up the position of chief executive of BNP Paribas Investment Partners in Germany. He will be responsible for the wholesale business.
Petter (pictured) has been at BNP Paribas since 2002, having previously worked at Raiffeisen Bank and Bank Austria.
He began his career at BNP Paribas as head of business development and subsequently became CEO of BNP Paribas Investment Partners in Austria and Eastern Europe.
In his previous role he built up the firm’s presence in Vienna, Warsaw, Budapest and Prague. He was responsible for both wholesale and institutional clients.
The new appointment marks the firm’s commitment to building up its presence in Germany as one of the key markets and meet specific client expectations.
Tobias Bockholt will continue heading up the institutional business in Germany, reporting to Charles Janssen, head of institutional sales Northern Europe.
With assets under management of €502bn, BNP Paribas Investment Partners is the sixth largest asset manager in Europe. It operates from 60 investment centres worldwide.
