Deutsche Börse appoints global head of Product Development

Deutsche Börse has announced the appointment of Ashwin Kumar as the Group’s new global head of Product Development as of 1 September. He reports directly to Deutsche Börse’s CEO Carsten Kengeter.

Key tasks in his new role include research of new products, product enhancements and product redesign along the value chain. He will also be responsible for exploring business opportunities by identifying demand from both sell-side and buy-side firms.

Kumar was a founding partner of Meru Capital and worked for the hedge fund from 2009 until 2014. Previously, he was also a founding partner of Old Lane. Further work stations include major international sell-side banks like Bank of America, Commerzbank Securities, CS First Boston and Citibank in senior management positions.

“Ashwin Kumar will help us to better leverage the firm’s long value chain in close collaboration with our key customers. Given his successful career and his wide range of experience in the markets, he is able to discern both sell- and buy-side demand in our fast-evolving markets”, commented Carsten Kengeter, CEO of Deutsche Börse.
