German duo establishes own boutique

Markus Steinbeis and Gerd Häcker, former portfolio managers at German boutique Huber, Reuss & Kollegen, have founded their own company, Steinbeis & Häcker Vermögensverwaltung, in Munich.

Steinbeis was head of portfolio management at Huber, Reuss and Kollegen for almost five years, managing mandates and funds. He was also responsible for the firm’s strategy. Prior to that, he was a portfolio manager with Pioneer Investments.

Häcker has been head of fund management at Huber, Reuss and Kollegen. He managed there a number of special and public funds. He previously worked at Munich’s Stadtsparkasse during five years.

Steinbeis & Häcker will focus on the management of institutional and private investors assets through multi-assets mandates. The firm targets in particular companies, pension funds and foundations.

It is understood a first German public fund (Publikumfonds) will be launched during the first quarter of 2017.
