Germany’s DPE II fund closes at €350m of capital commitment

DPE II, the second fund of German investment firm DPE Deutsche Private Equity, has closed with approximately €350m of capital commitments from approximately 20 institutional investors.

DPE Fund II intends to invest in medium-sized companies with enterprise values of between €10m and €100m in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

“The lower mid-market firm exceeded its €300 million target. Deutsche Private Equity received a re-up commitment from its single existing investor and attracted new commitments from pension plans, foundations, family offices and fund of funds. The final close amount also included a “significant personal commitment” the firm said.

Monument Group acted as placement agent for Fund II. The firm’s previous fund raised roughly €252 million in 2007.

The advisor of the fund is Munich-based Deutsche Private Equity GmbH. The team is led by Managing Partners Marc Thiery and Volker Hichert
