Henderson GI adds another manager to Germany property team
Henderson Global Investor has hired James Ellis as assistant portfolio manager to strengthen its German property team.
Ellis joins from Cushman & Wakefield where he worked for the Frankfurt-based valuation and advisory team. He will continue to be based in Frankfurt in his new role.
He will be responsible for providing performance measurement and analysis for the AUB Opportunity III Fund and the Henderson German Logistics Fund. At his previous job he has produced valuations for the Henderson Opportunity III Fund.
Liz Sworn, fund manager at Henderson Property, said: “James has built up a wealth of experience in the German market during his time at Cushman & Wakefield. His sector experience complements our own expertise in logistics, offices and retail where we continue to grow our portfolio and capabilities.”
The hire follows the appointment of Kathrin Andres who also joined Henderson’s Frankfurt office from Cushman & Wakefield in the autumn.
She joined the team after two successful commercial real estate fund closures at the start of October. The two funds – a German logistics fund and an Austrian commercial property fund – raised €270m in total assets.
Henderson now has £12.4bn in its property business across Europe, Asia and the US. It has offices in Beijing, Chicago, Frankfurt, Hartford, Hong Kong, London, Luxembourg, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Singapore and Vienna. It also has additional asset management capabilities through a joint venture in Hamburg.
