Hermes establishes sales presence in Asia

Hermes Fund Managers, the multi-boutique structured London based manager, has appointed Jakob Nilsson director of Business Development for Asia.

Previously doing a similar job for Hermes in the Nordic region, Nilsson has relocated to Hermes’ Singapore office to head the sales efforts in Asia.

Before Hermes, he spent some 15 years in investment banking at Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Johan Stromberg has taken over from Nilsson to head business development in the Nordic region, having previously worked for hedge fund Prosperity Capital.

Hermes has also appointed Antonis Maggoutas as sales manager covering Germany and Austria. Both Maggoutas and Stromberg will report to Paul Voute, director of Business Development for Europe.

Harriet Steel, global head of Business Development at Hermessaid the appointment of Nilsson to the Singapore based role would provide a launch pad for the manager’s presence in the region, in light of interest from pension funds, institutional and wholesale investors.
