MFS builds Swiss, German institutional sales

MFS Investment Management has hired sales executive from Hermes Fund Managers and Vontobel to build up its institutional sales teams in Switzerland and Germany, as demand from those regions soars.

Heiko Dahse and Karin Moritz join the Swiss and German institutional sales teams, respectively.

Dahse, previously at Hermes Fund Managers, has experience managing institutional business across Europe. In his new role as managing director he will be based in London, reporting to David Mace, senior managing director, EMEA institutional business.

Moritz will be based in Frankfurt, reporting to Lars Detlefs, managing director, Germany institutional sales. She moves over from Vontobel to cover both sales and client relationship management.

Mace said the business has seen “a significant uptick in Germany and Switzerland” over the past few years. The new appointments are set to help the firm “maintain momentum in these key markets.”

Detlefs added that MFS already has substantial business in Germany, and the expansion of its local team is key to further development in this market.

MFS is a global manager with investment offices in Boston, Hong Kong, London, Mexico City, São Paulo, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo and Toronto. It manages $293.4bn on behalf of retail and institutional clients.
