Mirae makes key hire for German-speaking Europe from Janus
Mirae Asset Global Investments Group is the latest manager to boost its presence in German-speaking Europe by appointing Betina Tomić from Janus Capital International as senior sales manager.
Mirae said it is finalising “a number of distribution agreements” with private banks, wealth managers and fund of funds providers in the region.
Tomić will be based in Mirae’s EMEA headquarters in London.
The $53bn asset manager has registered its Luxembourg-domiciled Mirae Asset Global Discovery Fund Sicav for sale in German-speaking Europe.
Before working at Janus, Tomić worked for Pioneer Fonds, and she has also worked at Fidelity Investment Services and Dresdner Bank.
Elliot Berman, Mirae Asset’s EMEA head of sales, said: “There is growing appetite among the German-speaking countries for high quality emerging market investment opportunities, and we are delighted that in Betina we have attracted an ideally qualified German national with strong industry knowledge and a proven track record.”
The expansion of Mirae’s distribution team in Germany is being mirrored by expansion at a number of European-based groups including Threadneedle, Pioneer Investments, BNY Mellon and Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management.
