Mall of Berlin: Record CRE deal

 Deutsche Hypothekenbank (Deutsche Hypo), Bayerische Versorgungskammer (BVK) and BNP Paribas REIM (BNPP REIM) have joined forces to finance the construction of Europe’s biggest urban shopping centre at Leipziger Platz in Berlin with €600m.

The deal concludes the long-term financing of the Shopping Centre “Mall of Berlin”, a joint venture by High Gain House Investments and Arab Investments / London.

The combined volume of the10 year financing project amounts to €600m with BVK covering €450m, Deutsche Hypo €80m and BNPP REIM €70m. According to BNPP REIM, it is the largest commercial real estate (CRE) investment financed by non-banking institutions in Germany and one of the biggest financing volumes of institutional investments in Germany.
