Renaissance hires from Janus for German and Austrian sales
Renaissance Asset Managers is boosting its visibility to discretionary and institutional clients in Germany and Austria by making a senior hire from Janus Capital Group.
It follows RAM’s recent appointment of Jens Bjorheim as sales director for the Nordic region and Switzerland.
Peter Zurhorst will head up RAM’s client business in Germany and Austria, with responsibility for institutions, pension funds and discretionary clients. He will be based in Munich (pictured).
Previously at Janus Capital Group he was responsible for institutional business in German-speaking Europe, and opened Janus’s German office in Munich in 2009.
He has also been head of northern Europe at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, looking after both institutional and wholesale business, and worked at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, UBS and at Credit Suisse in London.
He said: “I look forward to providing investors with RAM’s expanded opportunity to access frontier and emerging markets.”
RAM has also hired Ron Gillies as a director, to lead RAM’s sales activity in the UK especially in retail distribution. He previously headed strategic relationships at CoFunds.
Adrian Harris, RAM’s head of distribution and investor relations, said: “These senior appointments demonstrate the importance we are placing on building a strong and sustainable emerging market franchise in these core European markets. We believe we have the strongest investment proposition in emerging Europe, Russia and Africa.”
