Universal Investment expands institutional sales team

German asset manager Universal Investment has appointed Thorsten Schneider as head of Institutional Sales Management, covering pension funds, insurances and corporate clients in the German speaking countries.

Schneider joins from Frankfurt-based Maple Bank, where he most recently covered agency sales. Prior to that, he spent more than five years at Commerzbank, where he covered Derivative Sales to the corporate sector and other financial institutions.

By the end of the 2015/ 2016 financial year, Universal Investment managed €279bn, of which €200bn in institutional assets.
