Head of Berenberg External AM office to exit

Michael Gillessen, head of the Berenberg External Asset Management Office has decided to exit the German private bank. This news was confirmed to InvestmentEurope by a spokesperson.

Gillessen joined Berenberg Bank in July 2013, where he was responsible for the strategic support of customer group and to expand the range of services already provided. Since 2001, he has worked for different asset managers – first at UBS, then at Hauck & Aufhäuser Private Bank.

Lorenz Behnke will take over his role from 1 October 2018. Behnke has worked for Berenberg from 2001 to 2011 and led the corporate business. He is currently head of Hamburg branch of DZ Privatbank.
