Henderson adds co-manager to £2bn Cautious Managed fund

Henderson Global Investors has announced that Stephen Payne will join from Santander Asset Management to co-manage the £2.1bn (€2.65bn)  Henderson Cautious Managed fund.

Payne will report to Chris Burvill, director of UK equities and lead manager. Other co-managers are John Pattullo and Jenna Barnard. At Santander, Payne was responsible for the Enhanced, Dividend and Equity Income funds, while at Henderson he will be responsible for managing the performance and growth of the Cautious Managed fund.

Burvill said that the focus on performance would be a key element in growing assets under management. The strategy uses equities, bonds and cash to generate returns while “avoiding excessive risk”. The fund has outperformed its UK Investment Association category – the mixed investment sector – over the five years to the end of March, putting it in the top quartile over the period.
