HSBC GAM bolsters Fixed Income team with two new hires

HSBC Global Asset Management (HSBC GAM) has further strengthened its Fixed Income offering to clients with the appointment of two new senior professionals Oliver Boulind and Richard Balfour.

Both will be based in London and report to Ernst Osiander, head of Global Bonds.

At HSBC GAM, Boulind will be responsible for developing asset allocation strategies for global fixed income funds and managing global bond and global total return portfolios.

Boulind joins from Aberdeen Asset Management where he was responsible for development and implementation of the asset allocation process, which is used to manage global aggregate and total return bond portfolios, as well as managing traditional benchmark-driven global credit strategies. Prior to that, he was at AllianceBernstein, Invesco and JPMorgan in credit analysis and portfolio management roles.

Balfour will be responsible for managing Global and UK fixed income portfolios. He joins from Barings, where he was an investment manager on the Multi-Sector Fixed Income team, managing a range of global bond portfolios. Prior to this, Balfour was a portfolio manager at Credit Suisse Asset Management, initially managing money market and short duration bond funds, before taking on responsibility for the firm’s UK gilt portfolios.
