HSBC hires head of Securities Services, Europe

HSBC Securities Services (HSS), part of HSBC’s Global Banking and Markets business, has appointed Rafael Moral Santiago as head of Securities Services, Europe, effective as from 1 December 2015.

Based in London, he will report to Cian Burke, global head of Securities Services. He will also seat at the HSS’ executive committee.

Santiago will join HSBC from Deutsche Bank, where he held a number of roles across its transaction banking unit and its strategy function, including most recently global head of Investor Services.

Prior to this role, he established and led Deutsche Bank’s transaction banking strategy and business development function globally.

Santiago spent 13 years at Deutsche Bank, based in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

Before joining Deutsche Bank, Santiago worked in the software industry and started his career at McKinsey and Company.
