The new members, Félix Longás Lafuente and Jesús Tejel Giménez, have been named as independent directors to improve governance, the Spanish bank said in a statement.

Longás Lafuente has been CEO of the Spanish steel conglomerate Hierros Alfonso and general director of the brewery Grupo La Zaragozana. He is also chairman of the Association for the Advancement of Management (APD, in Spanish) in Aragon.

Tejel Giménez has been managing partner of Deloitte in Aragon and Valencia and has an extensive experience in the field of auditing, especially in the financial sector.
