Invesco acquires 100% occupancy of Neue Hoffenpost

Invesco real estate (IRE) completed the leasing of Neue Hoffenpost, its 50,000 sqm mixed-use property in central Munich, following active repositioning of the asset to diversify and improve the tenancy mix. They also announced the lease renewal for data centre provider, Equinix and the on-boarding of Ruby Works, the creative working solutions provider, part of the Ruby Hotels lifestyle brand.

“Today, Neue Hopfenpost is providing an urban building complex for modern tenants with pioneering, forward-looking business models, which we are very excited about,” comments Christian Freundl, IRE’s director of Asset Management in Germany.

“The important lease renewal and extension of an additional 2,500 sqm of space for Equinix – a leading, rapidly expanding data centre provider – is a great success for the asset. Now with 20,000 sqm, Equinix is the largest tenant in the property and their long-term commitment to the location reinforces our strategic reorientation of Neue Hopfenpost.”

The new image of the property is also characterised by the recent arrival of Ruby Works. As part of Ruby Hotels, an international lifestyle hotel brand, Ruby Works offers creative work stations and comfortable design offices.

Michael Struck, CEO and founder of Ruby Works, says: ‟We look forward to the collaboration with IRE and the opening of the first Ruby Works in Neue Hopfenpost. The location and building is ideal for the members of our new office community due to the excellent transport connections, local amenities tents sand its location in the city centre, within walking distance of the creative Maxvorstadt district and the charming Neuhausen area.”

Freundl adds: ‟With its personalised and newly-developed concept for co-working space, Ruby Works is an ideal addition to our broad mix of tenants in Neue Hopfenpost. The location of the property is very much in demand at this time due to development projects around the central railway station and in the immediate vicinity, which we believe will enhance the location even more with regard to tenant demand and quality.”
