Invesco launches £250m UK real estate fund

Invesco Real Estate has announced the first closing of its UK open ended residential fund with £250m of investable capital from five institutional investors.

The new fund seeks to capitalise on the growing imbalance in supply and demand in the European housing sector, focusing on residential investments in the UK .

Simon Redman, managing director Client Portfolio Management comments: “With under 5% of the UK PRS owned by institutional investors in the UK (compared to over 25% in the US, for example) research by Invesco Real Estate earlier this year suggests that UK institutional investors are significantly underinvested in this fast growing and highest performing real estate asset class in the UK.”
