Amundi strengthens ETF unit in Italy
Vincenzo Sagone has been appointed as co-head of Italy’s Amundi Sgr’s ETF Business Unit.
Sagone will work alongside Antonio Volpe, who was already head of the asset manager’s ETF division.
They both report to Gabriele Tavazzani, general co-director and head of Marketing at Amundi Sgr.
Sagone’s appointment is aimed at boosting the distribution of ETFs and indexed funds to Italian clients, the company said.
He has worked at Crédit Agricole since 2010, where he was responsible of launching Amundi ETF in Italy for Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux Italia.
Having started his career as financial engineer at UniCredit, Sagone has a long-standing experience in the asset management industry, where he has worked on Securities Derivatives at Abaxbank and at Intesa Sanpaolo’s Banca IMI, where he also took care of market making activities for the ETF segment.
General co-director and head of Marketing Tavazzani commented: “Sagone’s appointment will significantly boost Amundi Sgr’s team.
“Our ETF strategy in Italy has allowed us to grow consistently troughout the years, taking us to reach a market share of 6% in the sector.”
