Anima SGR acquires 2.4% stake in Fondiaria Sai

Italian asset manager Anima SGR has acquired a 2.4% stake in Fondiaria Sai, following the capital increase completed by the insurer as part of a four-way merger plan with former rival Unipol.

According to press reports based on filings submitted to the stock market regulator Consob, the asset manager is now among the key shareholders of the insurance company, which is now expected to appoint a new Board of directors which will lead it in the final stage of the merger.

Other major shareholders are Finsoe-Unipol with a 41,93% stake, UniCredit at 6.99% and private equity fund Sator at 3.04%.
