Argenti leaves BlackRock for Lombard Odier

Lombard Odier Investment Managers has appointed Andrea Argenti as country head for its business in Italy, effective December 2014.

Argenti joins from BlackRock Investment Management where he spent the last 14 years and since 2006 was head of retail Italy for that business. Before joining BlackRock in 2000, Argenti was a sales manager at Société Générale Asset Management in Milan and began his career at Alcor, Solvay Group.

He will be based in Milan and report to Hubert Keller, CEO of LOIM and a Managing Partner of Lombard Odier.

LOIM, the Lombard Odier Group’s asset management unit, managed CHF47.8bn (€39.2bn) on behalf of clients at the end of June 2014.

Geneva-headquartered LOIM seeks to deliver performance by identifying sources of both risk and return through absolute return, smart beta and high conviction strategies. LOIM offers its clients a range of innovative solutions including risk-based asset allocation, thematic equity investments, convertible bonds and alternative strategies as well as single-manager hedge funds.

“Italy is a key market for LOIM in which we have built a strong range of solutions that appeal to our broad network of distributors,” said Keller. “We’re delighted that Andrea has agreed to join us and I’m confident he will help us build on this foundation.”
