Borsa Italiana launches MiniFTSE 100
Italy’s stock exchange Borsa Italiana has launched today a mini future contract linked to UK index FTSE 100, ‘MiniFTSE 100’.
The investment tool has been mainly developed for online traders, as it allows to adapt the portfolio to the UK equity index, using the euro as the underlying currency.
The MiniFTSE 1000 will be traded on Borsa Italiana’s IDEM market.
According to Gabriele Villa, head of private investors at Borsa Italiana and London Stock Exchange, the new contract confirms the development of Italy’s derivative markets.
“Following the success of Mini Future based on Italian equity index FTSE MIB, our aim is to provide retail investors with easy access to a foreign market, making it easier to diversfy the investment portfolio,” he added.
