DWS names head of institutional clients for Southern Europe

DWS has appointed Alexia Giugni as head of institutional clients for Southern Europe, thus bolstering the firm’s Italian branch.

Giugni will be based in Milan and reporting to DWS head of asset management Italy Mauro Castiglioni.

With over 25 years’ investment banking experience, Giugni worked for various leading asset managers including JP Morgan, Citigroup, and UBS. He has been developing specific skills in the creation of new investment products for institutional clients in the insurance sector.

“Alexia’s appointment will help us achieve our goal of becoming a strategic partner for insurance companies and pension funds in Italy, Spain and Portugal,” said Michele Gaffo, DWS’ global head of insurance.

DWS Group had €676bn of assets under management as of 31 March 2018.
