Eurizon launches securitised bond fund

Eurizon Capital has announced the launch of its new Easyfund Securitized Bond Fund, aimed at offering investors access to the European credit market whilst fostering financing of the real economy.

The new fund, which is a Luxembourg-registered sub-fund is aimed at institutional investors and invests predominantly in securitised bonds such as asset backet securities (ABS), it also includes securitised residential mortgages, commercial mortgages, auto loans, consumer loans, SME loans and leases.

By targeting securitised fixed income products, the fund aims to capitalise on the recent ECB initatives to boost the securitised debt sector in the Eurozone through its asset purchase programme.

Fund manager Massimo Spadotto explains the funds’ investment process: “We pick a dynamic exposure to the various themes through an approach that combines macro and microeconomic analysis, which are essential and complementary aspects. The choice of each structured credit instrument stems from a meticulous and disciplined due diligence activity carried out through market databases and proprietary IT instruments, in order to manage and optimize the risk profile.”

Massimo Mazzini, head of Marketing and Business Development of Eurizon Capital adds: “We believe that asset management plays a key role in channeling savings into corporate funding. Therefore, we have created a product aimed at supporting the growth of the real economy by investing in ABS.”
