Exclusive: Fineco AM bolsters fund selection team with PM hire

Fineco Asset Management, the Irish asset management company of Italian group Fineco Bank, has appointed Grace Carbery as portfolio manager, InvestmentEurope can reveal.

A spokesperson of Fineco confirmed the move, specifying that Carbery is involved in strategic fund selection.

Prior to joining the firm in June, she was an associate fixed income portfolio manager at AllianceBernstein during more than five years.

Fineco AM has been authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland to perform asset management activities last May. The firm runs funds of funds through a guided open architecture model.

It appointed Paolo Maggioni earlier this year as chief investment officer and continues to build its portfolio management and fund selection team.

The unit also includes Patrick Farrelly who has been a former investment analyst with Mediolanum in Dublin and a hedge fund analyst at Swiss Capital Invest Holding (Dublin), part of Swiss Capital Alternative Investments AG, which is an affiliate of StepStone Group

The asset manager’s parent company, Fineco Bank had €68.1bn in assets under management as of end March 2018.
